Rebar (short for reinforcing bar), known when massed as reinforcing steel or steel reinforcement,is a steel bar used as a tension device in reinforced concrete and reinforced masonry structures to strengthen and aid the concrete under tension. Concrete is strong under compression, but has low tensile strength. Rebar significantly increases the tensile strength of the structure. Rebar's surface features a continuous series of ribs, lugs or indentations to promote a better bond with the concrete and reduce the risk of slippage.

The most common type of rebar is carbon steel, typically consisting of hot-rolled round bars with deformation patterns embossed into its surface. Steel and concrete have similar coefficients of thermal expansion, so a concrete structural member reinforced with steel will experience minimal differential stress as the temperature changes.

Other readily available types of rebar are manufactured of stainless steel, and composite bars made of glass fiber, carbon fiber, or basalt fiber. The carbon steel reinforcing bars may also be coated in zinc or an epoxy resin designed to resist the effects of corrosion, especially when used in saltwater environments. Bamboo has been shown to be a viable alternative to reinforcing steel in concrete construction.These alternative types tend to be more expensive or may have lesser mechanical properties and are thus more often used in specialty construction where their physical characteristics fulfill a specific performance requirement that carbon steel does not provide

The steel of coil steel is generally divided into plates, profiles, and wires. Coil steel is considered wire. As the name suggests, coil steel is a rebar that is coiled together like wire. It is bundled in the same way as ordinary wire, but it needs to be straightened when used. Most of the steel on the market is 6.5-8.0-10-12-14, which are all used for construction.

The billets used in continuous small rolling mills are generally small square billets cast in continuous casting. Their side lengths are generally 130~160mm, their lengths are generally around 6~12 meters, and their single billet weights are 1.5~3 tons. The rolling lines are mostly arranged in a horizontal-vertical alternating pattern to achieve torsion-free rolling throughout the entire line. According to different billet specifications and finished product sizes, there are small rolling mills with 18, 20, 22, and 24 racks, with 18 racks being the mainstream. Bar rolling mostly uses new processes such as step-beam heating furnaces, high-pressure water descaling, low-temperature rolling, and headless rolling. Rough rolling and intermediate rolling are developed to adapt to large billets and improve rolling accuracy. Finishing mills are mainly used to improve accuracy and speed (maximum 18m/s). Product specifications are generally ф10-40mm, and there are also ф6-32mm or ф12-50mm.

1. Hot rolled coils are made of continuous casting slabs or initial rolled slabs. They are heated in a step-beam heating furnace, descaled with high-pressure water, and then enter the rough rolling mill. The rough rolled material is cut and then enters the finishing mill for computer-controlled rolling. After the final rolling, it is cooled by laminar flow (cooling rate is controlled by computer) and coiled by a coiler to become a straight roll.

2. Cold Rolled Coils Different from hot-rolled coil, cold-rolled coil refers to the steel strip that is directly rolled to a certain thickness by rollers at room temperature and then rolled into a whole roll by a coiler. It is mainly produced by continuous galvanizing process, that is, the rolled steel sheets are continuously dipped into a molten zinc bath to make galvanized steel sheets; alloyed galvanized steel sheets. This type of steel sheet is also made by hot dip method, but after leaving the bath, it is immediately heated to about 500ºC to form an alloy film of zinc and iron. This type of galvanized coil has good coating adhesion and weldability.

4.Color coated steel coil is a product made of hot-dip galvanized steel sheet, hot-dip aluminum-zinc steel sheet, electro-galvanized steel sheet, etc. After surface pretreatment (chemical degreasing and chemical conversion treatment), one or several layers of organic coating are applied on the surface, and then cured by baking. It is named after the colored steel coils coated with various colors of organic coatings, and is referred to as color coated steel coils.
